Choosing a career path is one of the most major decisions you’ll have in your life, as it will affect where you’ll be in the future. However, not all children have access to resources or professionals who can guide them to choose the right career decisions.

That is why Empire East collaborated with ERDA Foundation Inc. to ignite a weekend of knowledge and excitement in students through an inspirational Career Talk.

The day was jam-packed with exciting activities and insightful discussions to help students translate their interests, hobbies and passions into meaningful career opportunities, empowering them to forge their own paths to success.

Empire East President and CEO Atty. Anthony Charlemagne C. Yu delivered his inspiring speech, where he emphasized the importance not only of having dreams and aspirations, but the vital role of the youth in helping the nation progress. Moreover, he told the story of ERDA founder Father Pierre Tritz, who created the organization to help children obtain the education they need. He ended his speech by affirming Empire East’s support for ERDA.

The event had booths for students to visit based on the careers available in Empire East and their strands, which included STEM, HUMSS, ARTS, ABM, and ICT-TVL. Each booth had its own set of specialized activities that participants may both enjoy and learn from.

For instance, the ABM (Accountancy, Business and Management) booth had fun games centered on math and research, like the Memory Game where the goal is to answer questions by finding the appropriate picture from the choices. The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) booth has an activity where students have to complete a card with uniquely-labeled professions by choosing keywords related to that profession.

These activities, which were coordinated by professionals working at Empire East, also demonstrated the significance of each strand, not only in terms of career selection and assisting students in developing their talents in that field, but also in terms of their impact in society. The HUMSS both, for example, showcased that careers under this strand help tackle sensitive topics, develop critical thinking, and discuss human and societal issues through writing and media. The ARTS (Arts and Design) booth, where the main activity was finishing drawings, emphasized that creativity can be utilized to create artworks that advocate relevant advocacies and messages.

Furthermore, the Career Talk gave students opportunities to experience things they may have not experienced before. The ICT-TVL (Information and Communication Technology - Technical Vocational Livelihood) booth has a game featuring Virtual Reality (VR) where students can use different tools and learn its importance in improving processes, such as powerpoint presentations.

In addition to booths, there were careers discussions where attendees could learn more about the opportunities available in Empire East. Speakers here addressed the importance of selecting the strand you want, because a fulfilling career is one where not only can you demonstrate your talent and earn income, but also have fun and enjoy it. They also explained that Empire East, as a real estate company, can help students achieve their dreams through its career options.

The Career Talks had been successful, as it allowed students to discover various aspects of their chosen strand that they can utilize when they go to college and eventually land on a job they desired. Not only that, but it allowed Empire East to impart knowledge, life stories and lessons, and opportunities that students may want to apply for someday.

Empire East understands that the youth is the future of the country. We want them to follow their heart as they pursue their dreams.
