The energy was palpable, and there was a different kind of vibrancy exuding from among those who gathered in a compound in Muntinlupa City early morning of July 15.

Families waited with much anticipation for the realization of their lifelong dream of owning a decent home, while children reveled in the celebration—happiness evident in their young faces and voices as they sang and performed before an equally lively crowd.

It’s not surprising really, for the promise of a new home offers a new hope for great beginnings, an improvement of their living conditions, and more importantly, a better tomorrow

And that promise stems from the recent partnership between Gawad Kalinga and trusted home developer Empire East Land Holdings Inc., who are working to provide shelter to a total of 38 less privileged families in Muntinlupa City.

A groundbreaking activity and a ceremonial key turnover were held last July 15 to kick off the construction for the said housing project, dubbed as pROOFs, the umbrella event in a series of humanitarian activities that Empire East has lined up for its 23rd year anniversary.

“Empire East believes that a home is not a luxury, but rather a right—the right of every Filipino to shelter. The houses that we will be building will not just benefit us, but it will be for the next generation,” Empire East president and CEO Atty. Anthony Charlemagne C. Yu said during the groundbreaking and turnover ceremonies.

Sharing happiness

As Empire East moves to expand its portfolio and market reach, it continues to reach out as well, by giving back to the community, and treating the marginalized with respect by giving them shelter.

In a nutshell, it’s about giving back and sharing the happiness.

From the beginning, Empire East has been a steady anchor and a reliable partner of families and individuals aspiring to have their own homes. It provides quality dwellings that serve as a testament to the realization of one’s dream and a solid foundation of one’s future.

Throughout the years, its efforts to create innovative, livable, and sustainable communities have made a significant impact on the locations where it is present, infusing energy and a unique sense of character into the Metro Manila landscape.

“We take pride in how our communities have taken shape over the years-they embody the kind of integrated, multi-faceted lifestyle we envisioned for its residents today,” Yu said.

Indeed, dynamism and diversity mark the accomplishments of Empire East as an urban developer. From its transit-oriented developments to its resort-inspired projects, it has clearly given the discerning mid-market a home worthy of their hard-earned money.

Lasting impact

As Empire East commences a new year in its purposeful journey, it is again making sure that it will make a lasting impact to the community and leave a valuable contribution to more families by embarking on humanitarian projects.

Through its “Empire East Cares” program, the company is conducting a series of small-scale philanthropic events aimed at giving back to the people within and around the community. It’s about going beyond the business of building landmark residential homes.

“Empire East Cares began during the company’s Yolanda relief efforts in 2014 and we hope to carry more charitable events in the future. It is also our way of saying thank you to our customers and stakeholders for giving us a multitude of opportunities to positively impact the lives of even more Filipinos. It is, after all, Empire East’s goal to forge ahead and mark even more milestones as we continue to seize new growth opportunities,” Yu explained.

“For years, the company has been passionately aiming to improve the lives of aspiring Filipino homeowners. Staying true to this cause, Empire East focuses on helping less privileged families in nearby communities with the goal of offering hope, warmth, nutrition, and art,” he further noted.

Activities

Among the activities undertaken by the company include the recent strEAT event.

Facilitated by Empire East employees, the company gave away treats and free meals to homeless individuals including street kids. Instilling the value of sharing meals with the family, Empire East, through strEATs, established the importance of looking after impoverished people who do not have anything to eat at all.

Empire East also provided blankets to the displaced Marawi folk last July 21. Called the Blanket Project, the company sought to provide the warmth of a loving family to those affected by the ongoing siege in Mindanao.

On July 26, Empire East will be conducting an art workshop among young students to harness and awaken their love for the arts. This is their way of bringing the hearts to homes.

There is clearly no stopping the heart of Empire East in showing that it cares. As it helps ensure that every Filipino lives a comfortable and decent life, it will continue to make milestones and further cement its mark in the housing industry.
