Loud cheers, colorful and bright outfits, wide smiles, and lively music-- these are what echoed in Empire East’s Facebook Livestream and Zoom Party held on December 21st.

As part of an annual feat, Empire East has successfully organized holiday celebrations for its employees and salesforce. This year, as limitations prohibit people from conducting social gatherings, Empire East held its first-ever three-day virtual jubilee to celebrate the Christmas season.

Kutitap ng Pasasalamat

A Thanksgiving mass was held to start the three-day event, where employees were enjoined to attend a virtual Eucharistic Celebration. While short, the solemn activity gave its attendees the chance to reflect on the positive, despite the eventful year.

"Because of one small spark of hope, our faith can grow immensely. And we are encouraged to take on a new tomorrow because of the promise of light to welcome us along the way,” shared Atty. Dennis E. Edaño, Vice President for Legal and Corporate Affairs, in his opening speech.

Kutitap ng Pagkilala

For Day 2, Empire East awarded the five, 10, 15, 20, and 25-year service awardees-- an annual ceremony honoring employees who have shared their shining moments with the company for numerous years. Aside from recognizing their loyalty and hardwork, they were also awarded plaques of recognition and were given a tribute and special message from their bosses and Empire East President and CEO Atty. Anthony Charlemagne C. Yu.

“Together, we have gone through many decisions and directions. This year, just like some other years, has been a very difficult one. And although I’ve said that we’ve broken through so many storms together, lots of things have changed. But in the arms of torchbearers like you, I’d like to believe that there is no dim future for the company,” said Atty. Yu in his speech for the awardees.

The event also had something in store for other employees! An online raffle with prizes ranging from one-night hotel stays, food and drinks, to cash prizes certainly had everyone on the edge of their seats.

For Salesforce, top sales contributors and seven creme of the crop were also awarded for their outstanding performance last year. An estimated 1Billion TCP and a total of 307 units were sold by one of Empire East’s President’s Cup Awardees alone.

President’s Cup is an annual recognition of the company’s top sales performers. In the previous years, awardees were given the privilege to experience an all-expense paid trip abroad with the President, which is one of the perks of getting a spot on the most coveted list every year.

Kutitap: Samu’t Saring Selebrasyon ng Empire East

On the last day of celebrations, each department went all out to showcase their talents in singing and dancing. In between performances, 57 lucky employees won up to 7,500 each in the three-set raffle draw, and P10,000 was given to one lucky winner. Aside from cash, winners also got the chance to take home a box of So Nice soju, Fundador, and 500PHP-worth of McDonald’s Gift Certificates.

While physically apart, employees still managed to enjoy the event together as they headed on to a special ZOOM party, with each department enjoying the festivities in their very own breakout room.

This year, Empire East chose to celebrate and emphasize the light or “Kutitap” amidst the ups and downs we all fairly shared this year. In essence, the company wanted to relay the message of “hope and light” to its stakeholders despite the negativities. In addition, Empire East believes that the employees and salesforce are what brought light to the company, which makes them illuminate brighter in the roadmap of success.

“At bukod sa liwanag ng tanglaw ng ating mga mahal sa buhay, patuloy tayong kumilos at maghanap ng sagot sa mga suliranin ng buhay. Subukang nating gumawa ng bago, tumanggap ng kakaiba, magkaroon ng bukas na kaisipan at tanggapin ang hamon ng nagbabagong panahon.”

Atty. Yu ended his speech in an encouraging note to remind everyone about the true essence of the holiday season-- to find light in everything we do and be grateful for the blessings such as the life of our loved ones, and the opportunity to make better decisions in the years to come.

Just like what the line in Memories implies, “Cheers to the ones that we got!”
